Long time! its funny that most of my posts come after long breaks! blame my lazy self as also situations.I've no idea what i'm gonna be writing about. i just wanted to write and so i'm here.
The past few days have been interesting. New experiences, new learning and a lot of fun!
My grandfather was admitted in the hospital for a lil more than a week and it was tough. Scary for me initially but i soon realised that he was fine and would be fine. tough on the family. Dad doesn't keep too well himself so it gets difficult at times. Kudos to him though..his spirit is amazing. He manages to lift himself every single time, forget the pain and move ahead. I can't imagine what somebody else in his place would have done. Anyways..dadu is much better now and dad is fine as well. Touchwood.
I had my cousin over...12 year old guy and i had loads of fun! We were playing for almost 10-12 hours in a day!! From 'Life' to 'connect four' to cricket...just about everything! We even managed to persuade our family for a round of tambola! Supercool!
I'm taking driving lessons from my dadu's driver and my cousin would accompany me everyday! Since our playing was robbing him of his afternoon sleep, he'd sleep in the car and if not sleep atleast be feeling sleepy. The sight of him sleeping in the backseat was just too cute! I absolutely loved having him around. For those of you who don't know, i'm the only child of my parents, so im rather fascinated about having a brother or a sister. And him around was fantastic.
Watched Taare Zameen Par with him and another cousin of mine. Brilliant movie. Loved crying through it!!:P. There's a lot that i'd want to say about it but i'll keep that for later.
I've always admired people who could draw and paint. The admiration is not just because i can't draw or paint even to save my life but also because i believe its a great medium of expression. The movie reminded me of a small thing that i've always been bitter about. None of my art teachers have ever made an effort to teach us how to draw. Every art class i remember started with a topic for the day and ended with the topic (only) written on the drawing sheet. You could draw whatever you wanted. Cool! But what about people like me to whom drawing didn't come naturally?? I do understand that talent is inborn but i also believe that teaching can do a lot of good. If somebody had guided me, i might not have become a great painter, but atleast could have been able to do something with a colour set. Ahh! Systems!! When will they change?? And how?
Even after my cousin left ive managed to have a good time on my own. I go out driving for an hour and just love it. Its so liberating! Holding the steering gives me this strange sense of power which is just great! The driver is more scared than i am and i thoroughly enjoy it. He's also one funny character. He's a proper 'punjab da banda' which implies very animated conversations and sketchy descriptions about his village. There's so much he's told me about his village that i almost feel like i've seen it. He's a big chatter box...bigger than i am (i like to believe) and still he tells my grandmom"yeh bolti zyaada hai, par achchi chala leti hai."!!! And i'm left speechless!! Dude u're the one who does the talking!
And im rather cold so i better leave the randomness here. Writing just this half a page feels so good!! :) hope to be back soon.
